Our team in Cyprus is led by Managing Directors and Licensed Insolvency Practitioners, Constantinos Ioannou and Andrew Andronikou. Liquidations

Our insolvency experts offer practical advice and solutions on all aspects affecting the procedure. Whether it is a solvent or insolvent company, we can assist the directors in ensuring all requirements are met and the closedown is completed orderly, aligning all stakeholders’ interests.

Cross-border Insolvency

We have collective experience in dealing with large and complex cases, including cross-border insolvency, extending to multi-jurisdictional insolvencies, foreign recognition, and information gathering tools (through our forensic accounting capability). Our understanding of enforcement allows us to optimize outcomes for stakeholders, working with clients from all layers of the capital structure and dealing with all aspects of insolvency work, from distressed M&A to regulatory and contentious litigation and investigation.

Receiverships  

We can serve holders of floating charge bonds through the appointment of an insolvency practitioner as a receiver. Receiverships are commonly used in Cyprus by credit institutions and loan management companies for loan recovery. Receivership is a very powerful tool in securing recovery from business realizations, floating charge assets, and complicated asset structures such as subleased or non-vacant possession assets. 

Examinership

This corporate recovery scheme was introduced in 2015 and we have been involved in the introduction of this new scheme since its inception. We have valuable experience in this area from defending various examinership petitions in several receivership appointments and have the tools to assist entities and their stakeholders to recover and continue as going concern.

State-of-the-art eDiscovery

We assist clients in all stages of an eDiscovery exercise, from identifying and preserving data to document review and production. We provide a software platform and actively work with clients and external counsel to ensure technical aspects of the discovery process are identified, and further assistance can be deployed where necessary. We regularly draw from the expertise of our in-house forensic accounting, asset recovery, and investigation specialists to address key litigation matters as they arise and assist clients with navigating data to establish best-practice workflows. Our experts advise on searching and filtering, perform ‘Technology Assisted Review’ workflows as required, and, in the latter stages, ensure that relevancy, privilege, and tagging have been completed before producing a final disclosure set.
