A failed fundraising, loss of a major contract, bad debtors, or the inability to pay back a loan can all too easily result in insolvency. However, seeking turnaround advice early and acting quickly is the key to stabilizing operations and a return to profitable and cash generative trading.

We bring locally based professionals with unique capabilities, substantial global expertise and relationships, who will work alongside existing management and external stakeholders, assisting them to turnaround performance of stressed and distressed corporates.

Working alongside our clients, our primary goal is to help prevent insolvency occurring in the first place, maximize value and bring about a return to growth, ensuing the future success of the business. We do however also assist companies ‘restructure’ within the Bankruptcy Code.

The team is highly experienced and has been instrumental in a number of turnarounds including high profile cross-border cases. Between them, they have led some of the most significant turnaround and deal advisory assignments in the UK, Switzerland, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and East Africa.

In addition, our locally based team have led on a number of M&A engagements, due diligence assignments, valuations, strategy development, market studies and business reviews for a diverse portfolio of clients. Our Managing Director and Head of Deal Advisory and Turnaround, Nigel Smith, won the prestigious Private Equity (Africa) M&A award 2021.
